Beaune is one of the largest Côte de Beaune districts covering 430 ha and with no less than 42 sectors classified as “premier cru”.Appelation: Beaune 1er cru

– History: the word “grève” means a plot of sandy soil good for growing vines

– Slope: 5 to 15% at an altitude between 230 and 260m

– Vinestock: SO 4
– Graft: Pinot Noir, visual selection
– Soil: sandy at the foot of the slope and more stony, higher up
– Taste: robust and richly coloured with both finesse and elegance on the palate; the wine will age well  with characteristic “sauvage” tones
– Serving temperature: 15-16°C and it can be advisable to decant recent vintages to enhance the aroma.
