Chateau Boucasse Vendemiaire 90WS

Petit Manseng is part of the greatest sweet grape varieties. Its natural acidity balances the freshness and the sweetness. Being late-harvested, the overripe grape gives the wine fl avors of candied fruits. Three different cuvees of sweet Pacherenc varieties are made, depending on the harvest time (October, November or December), and which names are those of the French revolutionary calendar: Vendémiaire, Brumaire, Frimaire. The Pacherenc du Vic Bilh wines from Château Bouscassé come among the greatest sweet whites in the world.

Grape variety: Petit Manseng, Petit Courbu. 50 year-old vines. Hand-picking.
Terroir: Clay and limestone soil.
Winemaking and Ageing process: Pressing of the whole bunches, and selection of the juices. Fermentation in new oak barrels at 18°C. Ageing on lees in oak barrels for 12 months.
Tasting notes: Notes of exotic fruits, mango, apricot, crunchy fruits and honey. Food and Wine pairings Petit Manseng is a variety that most sommeliers do appreciate as a very good sweet wine.
