Villa Giada “Suri Rosso” Barbera d’Asti DOC
VINEYARD: “Vadrini″, “Spessa″, “Ponticelli″, estate vineyards located in Calosso and Agliano Terme. Excellent West to Southwest exposure. Hand harvested in the first days of October.
VINIFICATION: After a soft destemming, the traditional skin-contact maceration begins. It lasts for 10-12 days. This process is followed by the first racking at the end of which the malolactic fermentation starts. The refining lasts for about 4-5 months and is carried out in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature. After the bottling, the wine rests for a short period in lay-down bottles inside our cellars, until it reaches a perfect refining.
Colour: Bright ruby red with brilliant reflections.
Perfume: Pleasantly vinous with intense scents of cherry and red fruits and a spicy finish.
Taste: Full and fruity, fresh and generous, it exalts the typical characteristics of the Barbera.
Its sweet and soft tannins, lead to a soft and persistent finish.
Thanks to its typical structure, it can be appreciated both in the first year after the harvest and after a short ageing.
